Joseph Wong is a Hong Kong–born pianist trained in the Russian conservatory tradition under Alexander Tutunov. His repertoire spans Bach, Beethoven, Brahms, Prokofiev, and Rachmaninov, with a focus on structural clarity and the philosophy of musical speech (intonatsiya).

As a sought after pianist, Joseph has performances stretching beyond his hometown, and has engagements across the United States, Europe and Asia. Notable appearances include Carnegie Hall in New York City, Kennedy Center in Washington DC and the Eli and Edythe Broad Stage in Los Angeles.

Among his vast collection of repertoire, Joseph is well known for his performances of Rachmaninov’s Solo and Orchestral works, including the 2nd Piano Concerto, 2nd Piano Sonata, and 2nd Symphony transcribed for piano. His hybrid arrangement of Rachmaninov’s Second Piano Sonata in B-Flat Minor op.36 received critical acclaim during its debut in the east coast.

As a seasoned pedagogue, Joseph’s distinctions include the Fellowship of the London College of Music in Professional Achievement in recognition of his professional performance over the span of the last decade. The accreditation as a National Certified Teacher of Music also paved way for his current appointment as Chair of the Certification committee of Oregon Music Teachers Association.
